  4. │ [A] Switch Message Area - Change from one message area to another.  │
  5. │ [C] Continuous New Messages - Display NEW messages without pausing. │

  7. │ [G] Goodbye/Logoff - Logoff this system and disconnect.             │

  10. │ [N] Read New Messages - Read all NEW messages since last call.      │
  11. │ [P] Post a Message - Compose and save a message for all to read.    │

  13. │ [U] Upload a Message - Compose a message offline and upload it.     │
  14. │ [X] File Transfer Section - Jump to the file transfer section.      │

  19. │                   EBBS Message Area Tips:                           │
  20. │                                                                     │
  21. │ 1) FIRST CALL: First time callers should choose READ FORWARD and    │
  22. │    read only the last 10 or so messages in message areas of         │
  23. │    interest. This will set your NEW MESSAGES pointer for your next  │
  24. │    call.                                                            │
  25. │                                                                     │
  26. │ 2) ENTER: While reading messages, hitting ENTER will abort the      │
  27. │    reading of the current message and skip to following message.    │
  28. │                                                                     │
  29. │ 3) SPACE: While reading messages, hitting the SPACE BAR will abort  │
  30. │    the reading and drop to the READ COMMAND prompt.                 │
  31. │                                                                     │
  32. │ 4) AUTO-PAUSE: If auto-pause is enabled, EBBS will pause every      │
  33. │    screenful or so. Be sure to set your SCREEN LINES as desired for │
  34. │    auto pause to work effectively. ENTER or SPACE will resume.      │
  35. │                                                                     │
  36. │ 5) MANUAL PAUSE: Hitting s, S, * or Ctrl-S will pause all text      │
  37. │    outputs. Any key will resume.                                    │
  38. │                                                                     │
  39. │ 6) IN GENERAL: I suggest callers simply check into prefferred       │
  40. │    message areas and post, reply & read new messages regularly.     │
  41. │                                                                     │
  42. │ 7) ZIP new messages and DL:  This feature allows users to           │
  43. │    download their new messages in a ZIP file. Users can then        │
  44. │    review them at their leisure, compose offline replies, then      │
  45. │    call back and ASCII upload those replies.                        │
